I know, it's been a while since I did a photo Friday. Truth is I haven't really found too much that I've been interested in or had the energy to photograph. So it goes.
A few weeks ago, during the full moon in November we have a great sunset with a giant moon rising over the mountains.
This weekend we're headed up North to Santa's village. It's been a rough few weeks and I'm glad to get out of the house and have a distraction that isn't work. I know that kids will have a great time. I'm looking forward to having some Tim's and getting outside. Especially outside that isn't covered in dirt.
Can you believe that Christmas is right around the corner?

Scribs Farm one year later
We've officially been on the farm for a year. I'm a bit late, are you surprised? It seemed to have both flown by and taken forever. We've learned a lot, had some pretty stressful times (Hello flooded field!) and learned exactly what is important. The kids are so much happier here. If I let Nature Baby be in charge, she'd never come in the house. I foresee more animals in our future! We've seen the progress we've been making and it's so satisfying. Google maps updated their maps (this happens every 3-4 years) I can see the difference from above. Our garden is in there, and the compost we've built, no coop or removal of garbage hill.
Highs
Chickens (The coop and eggs!)
Garden (July, June, and May)
Living room redo I still can't believe it's the same room in the same house.
Wild life (and here)
Finding the Elephant Hawk Moth I still haven't seen any signs of another.
Lows
Flood
Garbage hill
Living next to a berry field, the sound machine. My goodness, I'm not looking forward to it again next year.
To Dos this year
Paint kid's rooms
Fence both for the yard and field
Paint hall way and back entry
Screen door for backdoor
Play set for the kids
Switch Septic field to a wild flower mix.
Next 5 years
Reside the barn
Landscaping - I want big trees!
Patio with a pergola
Re-insulate, new windows, basically get this house warm in the winter
Paint the kitchen cabinets
This year, I don't think my hands have ever been clean and I've never worked so hard in my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm excited for the future, for myself, the kids and the farm. We have a plan for the direction we'd like to head and some ideas on how to get there. I have finally gotten my knitting mojo back and now I'm starting to consider sheep. We'll see what the future brings.
For the first time in a really long time, maybe ever, I'm still and I'm happy.

Ah, fall. (ah, like a sigh of relief, not AHHH ZOMBIES).
Bring on the misty mornings, chilly nights and pumpkin everything.

Every time our field is cut, the eagles come out for an easy meal of (I assume) field mice. Next time I will be prepared, this is the best shot (zoom in) of a pair. There is a nest at the end of my property that has at least a nesting pair and I'm guessing this juvenile.
This weekend is going to be hot! The long range forecast is hot. The coolest will be in the mid 80s. We have no A/C, there will be lots of playing in the hose and in the dark. The kids don't seem to mind, I don't do too well with dehydration.
This weekend I don't think we have any projects planned! My hands are getting itchy to do some painting though. I'm dying to paint Nature Baby's room but that requires an extra set of hands to watch the kids. We have a weird hall/closet area that needs a freshing but

I have a new editing program that I'm slowly learning how to use. I have a bunch of pictures to edit and email my parents after their visit and haven't quite figured it all out yet. I'm slowly going through tutorials.
We have an exciting weekend coming up! There's a farmer's day parade Saturday, the kids are really excited! I can hear nature baby now "See! See! Tractor! Truck! See!"
It's going to be in the high 80s this weekend and for those of us without A/C, we will be sweating. A and I made popsicles this week, he's very excited to eat them.
Waking up on the weekends is my favorite, not only because I can wake up with out an alarm (I slept in until a whooping 5:30) but waking up with the sun and birds. There are so many song birds singing "Get up lazy bones!"
What have you got going on this weekend?

I took this photo of one on my strawberry plants a few weeks ago. The dew is perfect. I couldn't ask for that better picture. I've been plucking all the blossom so the plants will root but I might have missed one or 2. The kids can't wait to eat them!

This is what you're missing while you're sleeping!
What are you up to this weekend? I'll be outside, unless it's raining. I'm hoping to get a path down to the river cleared out. We haven't been down to the banks yet. The wild blackberries are already coming in, they are out of control!I have no idea what we'll do with so many this year! Jams, jellies, pies, scones.... Any ideas?

...I just realized it's a long weekend! Even better!

The other day it was raining the in the berry field while it was sunny and it was not raining in our yard. Crazy weather!
It's mother's day weekend, what are you doing for you Momma? I'm not sure what's going on around here, probably nothing out of the ordinary, and I'm ok with that. If I can get the rest of the garden planted, I'll be happy!
Have a nice weekend, don't forget to call your Mom!

May already! That's bananas! This beautiful hummingbird moth has made friends with my yard. I'm perfectly ok with it. He (or she) has pretty little bits on pink on or under it's wings. It's too bad you can't see it in the picture.
I hope you're weekend is full of rest and relaxation. I've got some good stuff to share next week!

I love old barns, make that old buildings in general. This barn has battens falling off, is covered in moss and this gem right by the door. An old, dead vine. It just starts and stops and it just there, like it was always meant to be there. I love it. I love everything about this picture! I hope you like it too!
We had such a busy week, I would say I'm looking forward to relaxing but thats not going to happen! There is too much to do!
What are you weekend plans?

Photo Friday Last Friday of March!
All I come say is where did March go? We were so busy it just flew by!
Our Rhododendrons are ready to bloom any day now!
They are not my favorite plant and I'm thinking about getting rid of them, we'll see! Thats a project for another year!
Any plans this weekend? Scribs is working and it's going to rain, looks like it'll be another weekend of puddle splashing and blanket forts!

Wednesday we had a beautiful sunrise and I just happened to pop outside with my phone to catch a second of it!
This weekend we are getting our garden tilled, it feels we've been working on it forever! I can't wait to share the process! I will say it has been exhausting!
Any plans with weekend?

Friday already? Holy Moly and it's Friday the 13th, spooky! We had a great week so far! I did some work towards getting our garden planted, we did some chicken coop work and did a whole lot of playing outside! I think the kids were outside more than they were inside. Just the way I like it!
This weekend it is supposed to rain, so I guess we'll have to do some inside games. We'll see. Honey was waiting patiently for the rain so we would go inside. She's so lazy!
It's an iPhone photo, but sometimes that's all you've got!
I hope you have a lovely weekend and get outside!

Photo Friday part 4
I feel like I spent this whole week waiting. Waiting for deliveries, waiting for calls to be returned and waiting from the water company. Waiting, waiting, waiting and waiting.
This weekend we're going to spend a whole lot of time outside, skype with the grandparents and try not to let day light savings kick out butts.
What are you up to this weekend?

Do I even need to say anything? I went out Sunday for about 30 minutes while the kids were napping. Are you sick of pictures of the mountains yet?

Photo Friday 2
We had the most beautiful foggy sunrise a few weeks ago. The rest of the morning was a delightful foggy dream.
This week flew by! Scribs' days off all been all over the place which lead to a bit of craziness around here. Mainly I had NO idea what day it was even after checking. I erased a bunch off of my to do list! And am motivated to keep this productivity kick going! Maybe Monday Motivation helped? I think so!
This weekend will be more of the same for us, playing outside in the warmth, walks to the river, N playing with bugs. I've got something things I'm looking forward to sharing in the upcoming weeks!
I hope your weekend is productive!

Photo Friday v.1
I'm going to start something new, and I'm calling it Photo Friday. I take SO MANY pictures I think I'd rather share a few every week instead of a giant photo post. I love taking pictures of what we're doing and what is naturally happening around us, unfortunately I don't always have my camera and I don't like using my phone for everything. So we get what we get!
My favorite subject as usual, the mountains. This one actually required a little more work (ahem, walking for a whole 5 minutes). Are you bored of mountains yet? I could take pictures of them for days!
I feel like I'm living in a Bob Ross painting. What a nice way to end the week, I hope you have an exciting weekend!
